FAQs
I'm a new client. What should I expect for my first visit?

Welcome! Your first visit as a new client is exciting! You will have the opportunity to fill out any paperwork you have not already completed, and we will review your medical history, previous cosmetic procedures/outcomes, what you are interested in specifically. These in person meetings are ideal for letting your provider do a thorough assessment and discuss a potential treatment plan with you. After that, if you have scheduled an actual service that will occur after all information has been reviewed.
I need a Saturday appointment. Is that possible?

While we can't guarantee availability, we are more than happy to do our best to accommodate! Please fill out this form and we will be in touch! (We do not offer any appointments on Sunday... sorry.)
What should I expect at my Dysport ("Botox") appointment?

These visits are usually short and sweet, which everyone appreciates! We generally start by reviewing your specific concerns and goals for treatment, mapping out the area(s) that we will inject. We will then take your before/after pictures and have you make several different expressions, marking the areas that require injection. After that, we will start the injection process which is generally quick and very tolerable. We will review all “after care” instructions with you once we finish. Any patient requiring a “touch up” will be seen 2-3 weeks after their initial appointment.
How soon after my Dysport injections should I see results?

Dysport behaves different between person to person, but on average effect usually starts to take place around 4 days after your appointment. It will continue to work until 14 days, at which time you are seeing your “final result.”
How long will my Dysport last? How often do I need to get injections?

Different people metabolize the product at different rates, however on average clients are seeing around 3 months or 90 days of effect. We generally recommend planning on injections every 3-4 months for best result.
How should I prepare for a chemical peel?

Prior to a chemical peel, we will generally recommend that all active products (I.e. acid containing products, AHA/BHA products, or retinol contenting products/tretinoin) be discontinued 7 days before your scheduled peel. You should avoid any direct, prolonged sun exposure or sunburn before your peel. You should arrive to the office with a clean face.
How long will I peel after a peel?

It depends on the peel! For our traditional 5% TCA peel, peel time is generally 3-10 days after peel. For the Biorepeel, there is minimal to no peeling for about one week after application. For the ZO 3 step peel, peeling usually starts 2 days after treatment and can last for 5-6 days.
What is a Glow-Tox?

A Glow-Tox is a combo service with dysport injections and a chemical peel. Your peel is discounted for this service. These two services complement each other perfectly; as the peel works to induce exfoliation and turnover, the toxin starts to work. By the time any peeling has ceased, your Dysport is in full effect. The result? Smooth, glowing skin.
What is the downtime for microneedling?

Microneedling clients should count on about 24 hours of downtime; immediately after the procedure, millions of micro channels are open and you are not able to wear any SPF or makeup. Clients are generally very inflamed and erythematous during this phase. After 24 hours, the microchannels have closed, so the client may cover any residual redness with makeup or tinted SPF.
Does microneedling hurt?

No way! At KM, we utilize a potent numbing agent including benzocaine, tetracaine and lidocaine. This is applied 30 minutes before the procedure and allows the client to become very comfortable for the treatment process.
What is the difference between Sculptra and filler?

Filler is a viscous type of hyaluronic acid that is injected into different areas of the face to add volume to these areas. The results are immediate and last 6 months to a year. Sculptra is also an injectable, but it is water based and thin. It is injected under the outer layers of skin and above the muscle to the mid face, nasolabial folds and marionette lines. The medication stimulates a dramatic collagen response, with effects taking 4-6 weeks to be noticed and lasting up to 2 years.
How soon after Sculptra will I see results?

Sculptra generally takes 4-6 weeks to start working. The results can last up to two years.
Where can I use dermal fillers?

Almost anywhere that you are volume deplete! At KM MedAesthetics, we can inject filler to accentuate or revive the cheeks, nasolabial folds, chin, jowls, and lips (of course)!
I think I want lip injections but I'm scared. What do you recommend?

Do your research! Take time looking at before and after photos and come in for an assessment! If lip filler is not for you, maybe a lip flip with Dysport is a better alternative! Or if you are nervous about the volume, we do offer half syringes which make for a great option.
What is the process to start weight loss injections?

We will meet with you in the office and take a focused medical history. Ideally, our client has had lab work within the last 3 to 4 months, otherwise we may request you have bloodwork drawn prior to starting. We will discuss at length the medication, what to expect, potential side effects, and of course demo how to appropriately inject it! The medication will be ordered for an Ohio-based compounding pharmacy and shipped overnight directly to the client’s home.
What is the difference between Semaglutide and Tirzepatide? Is one better than the other?

The two medications are very similar and both yield excellent results. Semaglutide is a GLP agonist only, while Tirzepatide works on both GLP and GIP. Both medications result in increased satiety, appetite suppression, and weight loss. They share a similar side effect profile. Some are that Tirzepatide yields more weight loss, however in our experience that is completely client-dependent.
